All-Star Cocktail Lineup Celebrates Olympic Medalists

As the Olympians make their way back home, we are raising a glass to those who competed and toasting the athletes that made us sit on the edge of our seat in anticipation. From record breaking moments to the many American gold and silver medals, Rio 2016 was a spectacular show of athleticism, sportsmanship, and what we can achieve when we put our minds to a task.

If you want to keep the Olympic mood alive then consider toasting to your country with these delicious recipes. All of the hard work, blood, sweat and tears all acuminated in an astonishing end of ceremony and now is the time to retell the tales and bask in the aftermath. So raise a glass, and celebrate all those who made our country proud, and who put on one hell of a show!

Drambuie Iced Green Tea

Ingredients:

  • 1 ½ parts Drambuie
  • 1 Spicy Ginger teabag
  • 3 parts Cucumber Juice
  • ½ part Lemon Juice
  • Sweeten further to taste

Method:

Infuse one tea bag in up to 1/2 cup of Drambuie for 1 hour. Remove bag squeezing out excess. Combine all ingredients in a tin and shake. Double strain over fresh ice. Garnish with a lemon wheel.

Monkey Jerry

Ingredients:

  • 1 part Sailor Jerry Spiced Rum
  • 1 part orange juice
  • Pilsner beer*

Method:

Shake Sailor Jerry and orange juice with ice, pour into a beer glass full of ice and top with beer.

*We encourage you to experiment with different types of beers.

Sailor Jerry Spiced Rum is a Caribbean Rum blended with 100% natural spices and flavors.

New York Smash

Ingredients:

  • 1 ½ parts Hudson Four Grain Bourbon
  • Apple: a couple thinly-sliced wedges
  • ½ part simple syrup (1:1)
  • ¼ part Ruby Port (or a fruity red wine if you don’t have port handy)
  • Handful fresh mint
  • Ginger ale

Method:

Add apple slices, simple syrup, and two or three mint leaves to shaker tin (or pint glass half of ‘Boston Shaker’) and muddle together. Add Hudson Four Grain Bourbon and ice and shake well. Strain over fresh ice in Old Fashioned/rocks glass and top with splash of ginger ale. Float port (or wine) on top of the drink by pouring carefully over the back of a bar spoon. Garnish with mint sprig.

Icelandic Paloma

Ingredients:

  • 2 parts Reyka Vodka
  • ½ part Ancho Reyes Chile Liqueur
  • 1 part Grapefruit Juice
  • ½ part Simple Syrup
  • ¼ part Lime Juice

Method:

Build the cocktail over ice, shake, and serve in a Collins glass.

Reyka Vodka is an Icelandic born vodka and provides a smooth and crisp base for both complex and simple cocktails. Cocktails created by Reyka Brand Ambassador Trevor Schneider.

Smoke and Fire Margarita

Ingredients:

  • ¾ part Montelobos Mezcal
  • ¾ part Ancho Reyes Chile Liqueur
  • ¾ part Milagro Silver Tequila
  • 1 part fresh lime juice
  • ½ part agave nectar

Method:

Using a lime wedge, wet the rim of an old fashioned glass, salt it, and set aside. Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker. Add ice, shake, and double strain over fresh ice into the glass. Garnish with a lime wedge.
