Beards Men's Grooming

How to Groom Your Beard with Jack Black

From beard transplants to hair in a can, men are going to crazy lengths to get facial hair, but few are taking the time to properly care for their beards and more importantly, the sensitive facial skin underneath. With the help of Jack Black products and great grooming tips from top dermatologist Dr. Anthony Rossi, caring for your skin and facial hair is faster and easier than growing that beard! Dr. Rossi recommends beginning any grooming routine by exfoliating two to three times per week to remove dead skin cells and prevent ingrown hairs, especially if you’re planning on growing out a beard or shaving daily.

Jack Black’s deep-cleaning pre-shave cleanser and scrub contains small scrubbing particles that remove dirt and dead skin cells for a less-irritating shave. Regular use of this scrub also helps prevent in-grown hairs by opening congested pores.

Tip: As your beard begins to grow, washing the hairs is just as important and washing the skin underneath. Dr. Rossi suggests using a gentle cleanser daily to wash away dirt and oil without further irritating the skin.

Jack Black Daily Facial Cleanser

This dual-purpose 2-in-1 liquid cleanser and toner removes deep-down dirt and oil, for clear, smooth, shave-ready skin.  Works gently, without over-drying, to leave your complexion clean, hydrated and fresh.

Tip: “Whether you grow your whole beard or just part of it, I tell my patients when you shave facial hair it’s best to shave in one direction: the direction of hair growth,” advises Dr. Rossi. “This way, when the hair gets cut it doesn’t make a double edge hair that can regrow into the skin and cause ingrowns.”

Jack Black Double Edge Safety Razor

The classic addition to a modern shaving routine, the Double Edge Safety Razor enables the most skin-friendly shave possible.  As the safety razor requires less pressure than a traditional multi-blade cartridge, skin irritation, razor burn and ingrown hairs are minimized for a more comfortable shave.

Tip: Finish off your grooming routine with a moisturizer.  Dr. Rossi likes using a hydrating cream with SPF to ensure skin is hydrated and protected. “SPF is important because facial hair does not block all of the UV rays,” states Dr. Rossi.
