Thanks to FX comedy for sponsoring this post and sending me a gift to celebrate the return of “Baskets” on FX comedy; you can catch the first installment on Thursday, 1/19 at 10 pm on FX.
One of the things I love about the holidays is finally getting time to binge watch all those TV shows you mentally take note of throughout the year. It’s the perfect time to kick back, unwind, and indulge in another world of fantasy and escapism. That’s why the FX comedy series “Baskets” caught my eye; it’s about a guy who wants to become a French clown, but hilariously, reality keeps getting in the way.
As an entrepreneur, I’m always dreaming of “what if;” what if I started a new business, what if I moved to a new country, what if I never took that call or went on that date. I think we can all relate to having an unfulfilled dream on some level. After all, we can’t play every hand we’re dealt, but that doesn’t mean your future is set in stone; it’s all about what choices you do make, as you are about to find out.
FX Comedy Series is “Baskets” of Laughs
One to watch: Saddled with financial difficulties and facing an impenetrable language barrier, Chip Baskets (Zach Galifianakis) moves back home to Bakersfield with high hopes. Chip is forced to confront his past while working as a rodeo clown and competing with his siblings (including his twin brother, Dale) for his mother’s approval, love, and affection.
Season 2 finds the Baskets family at its most fragile. Losing his wife and his rodeo job, Chip jumps on a train to get the hell out of Bakersfield, but a gang of gutter punks, the police, and sudden death drag him right back into the drama he tried to escape. Dale’s marriage crumbles as his unrequited love affair with Martha deepens – and well, the rest you’ll have to find out yourself!
Cool Swag Brag, Bro!
To celebrate season 2, which returns Thursday, 1/19 at 10 pm on FX, FX comedy sent me an awesome holiday-inspired gift basket that plays into the comedy series – in it, there was everything I needed (and didn’t know I needed) to enjoy the series. From the “cheese ball” comedy snack to my very own clip on man bun, I will be ready to rock the couch in true fan style.
