Basil Hayden’s® Bees Knees
Recipe by Rob Floyd (Los Angeles, CA)
Ingredients:
- 2 parts Basil Hayden’s® Bourbon
- 3/4 parts Fresh Lemon Juice
- 1/2 part Honey
- 1 slice Fresh Ginger
Method:
1. Muddle ginger in a mixing glass.
2. Add remaining ingredients with ice and shake.
3. Strain into a rocks glass.
4. Garnish with basil leaf.
Basil Hayden’s® Fall Beginnings
Recipe by Daniel Hyatt (San Francisco, CA)
Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 parts Basil Hayden’s® Bourbon
- 1/2 parts Pimm’s® No.1
- 1/2 part Cold Black Tea
- 1/2 part Simple Syrup
- Mint Leaves
- Ribbon of Orange Peel
Method:
1. In a metal tumbler, muddle mint into the simple syrup until mint becomes aromatic.
2. Add remaining ingredients and ice.
3. Stir together until tumbler gets cold.
4. Top off with more ice and garnish with fresh mint and an orange peel twist.
Basil Hayden’s® Old Fashioned
Recipe by Shawn Thompson (Chicago, IL)
Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 parts Basil Hayden’s® Bourbon
- 2 dashes of Bitters
- 2 tsp Demerara Sugar
- 1/8 Blood Orange (or Clementine Orange)
- 1 Griottine® Cherry
- Splash of Soda Water
Method:
1. In a rocks glass, muddle the cherry and blood orange with the skin removed in the sugar.
2. Add bitters and Basil Hayden’s and stir until the sugar is dissolved.
3. Top with a splash of soda water and garnish with a slice of blood orange.
Basil Hayden’s® Spiced Maple
Recipe by Joaquin Simo, (New York City, NY)
Ingredients:
- 2 parts Basil Hayden’s® Bourbon
- 3/4 parts Fresh Lemon Juice
- 1/2 part Maple Syrup
- 1/4 part Amaretto
- 3 dashes Bitters
Method:
1. Combine all ingredients in a mixing tin with ice and shake vigorously.
2. Strain into a rocks glass over fresh ice.
3. Grate a cinnamon stick over the top as garnish.
Basil Hayden’s® September Sour
Recipe by Julie Reiner (New York, NY)
Ingredients:
- 2 parts Basil Hayden’s® Bourbon
- 3/4 parts Lemon Juice
- 1 bar spoon Benedictine Liqueur
- 3/4 parts Simple Syrup
- 1 dash Orange Bitters
- 1/2 part Medium Bodied Red Wine
Method:
1. Combine all ingredients into a mixing tin and shake well.
2. Strain the liquid into a coup glass.
3. Float red wine on top of cocktail.
