Inventor and entrepreneur, Cynthia Wark leaves flying the friendly skies for a new venture on ground level. As a flight attendant veteran, now airbourne only twice a year, Cynthia relishes in a good round of golf, mostly for pleasure but often. In the spring of 2009, waiting to tee off, the weather was already extremely warm. If it’s like this now, summer is going to be brutal Wark thought. Cynthia visualized a fan blowing on her as she rested her swing. Inspired by Oprah’s numerous segments on woman inventors and reinventing their careers after 50; Cynthia Wark, with the help and support of her husband, set out to create the ultimate golf fan that would keep players cool during the hot months.

After three years of waiting for the patent to go through, Personal Golf Fan launched in 2012 and went on to win The Inventors Spotlight Pinnacle Award at the PGA Show in January 2013.

The Personal Golf Fan was one of only a couple others when Cynthia got the idea. The other fans were not portable or pre-installed. To be “country club” appealing or golf course etiquette the fan was designed to be easy on the eye, not bounce out of cart as well as keep you cool. The Personal Golf Fan has become the “it” golf cart accessory on the course these days, often selling out since it’s June 19th launch on-line, where it’s currently sold.

Patented, this portable fan has high quality components. The motor is brushless, ball bearing and good for about 10,000 hours. The rechargeable lithium-ion battery is lasts for about 2,000 charges. The fan blade has winglets (like an airplane) which helps increase airflow. It runs continuous on the low/normal speed for 6 1/2 hours and high 3 hours and 45 minutes and charges in less than three hours.  Personal Golf Fan comes with a wall charger; a water resistant carry bag and quick cover raincoat, two-cup adapters, two polymer rings and easily fits five different golf cart models. With the success of Personal Golf Fan you can be assured Cynthia has already put her creativity and resources in motion for future products.

Personal Golf Fan retails for $199.00.

  1. I purchased a PGF Fan this last summer in hopes that it would cool me down during the very hot and humid summer days on the course in Michigan. I love playing golf, but hate the rounds on the very hot days where I sit in the cart sweating away while I wait to hit the little white ball. I had tried a few other cart fans that hook onto the cart, but they just didn’t put out much air. I came across the PGF online and it said 20 mph output. I was a little skeptical about this claim, but I thought I’d give it a trie due to the fact I could return it in 10 days if I didn’t like it. It arrived and I quickly took it out of the box to give it a try. I have to admit I was very surprised at how much wind this little fan produced, then I realized it was on the normal speed. I put it on high, and man did it blow my hair back. I took it out for the first time on a hot 90 degree, very humid day. It really kept me cool the entire 18 holes and made me not want to get out of the cart. I loved the fact that I wasn’t sitting in the cart sweating to death anymore while waiting for my turn. I had to fight off my buddies who kept trying to steal it from my cart. Needless to say, I did not return it! I even just purchased a few more as Christmas gifts.

    1. Thank you so much for sharing your feedback James! We have to say the same, and couldn’t believe how much air this portable fan can put out! A must have for those hot, humid days on the green!
