Fred and Harrison Rich founded Dapper Classics in 2011 after growing tired of the bland existing options for fine men’s hosiery that would sag and bunch upon wear. The father and son team believed that style and comfort could (and should) co-exist and resolved to start a company that would provide men with a stylish, quality selection of timeless men’s dress socks. In addition to their sartorial concerns, Fred and Harrison were also troubled by the limited choices for luxury Made in USA men’s socks. They were determined to keep the production of Dapper Classics socks stateside.
After months of planning and research, Fred and Harrison located a third-generation North Carolina mill that helped them realize their dream of producing Dapper Classics socks in the United States. Having partnered with expert knitters with a rich legacy of excellence, Fred and Harrison were confident Dapper Classics socks could compete with the best imported products. They also believed many consumers would prefer American-made socks over hosiery manufactured abroad. Their instincts proved correct. In the company’s relatively short history, Dapper Classics has quickly established itself as one of the premier purveyors of stylish men’s dress socks.
Dapper Classics is informed by a simple style philosophy: dapper is in the details. The fine merino wool used for Dapper Classics socks originates from sheep farms in the Montana Region. The wool is then superwashed and processed into top in South Carolina before it is expertly knitted at a third-generation mill in North Carolina. Dapper Classics wool dress socks contain cooling and warming characteristics, making them comfortable for year-round wearability.
