The Kelce Method: Going Commando For Peak Performance

With one Super Bowl win and six All-Pro honors behind his name, Jason Kelce is a star-studded athlete. Could the secret to his performance be…going commando?

On a recent episode of the “New Heights” podcast with brother Travis, Jason explained his anti-underwear philosophy: “I don’t wear underwear based on comfort…I find it unnecessary and problematic to the freedom my boys like to enjoy.”

For all his talk about going commando, Jason puts his money where his mouth is. Over the past few months, he’s been spotted wearing the brand birddogs. birddogs is known for shorts with a built-in liner to replace your underwear. As the brand’s FAQ so gracefully puts it, they “keep you from getting your big stinky balls all over everything.”

When he’s doing physical activity, Jason admits that he wears compression shorts to prevent thigh chafing. Since the birddogs built-in liner essentially is a compression liner, it makes sense that he gravitated towards that brand.

birddogs says their liner is made of a smart fabric that wicks sweat and odor. While we haven’t tested those claims ourselves, we’d say a 290 lb NFL Center is a reliable source when it comes to discussing sweat and smell.

Did the birddogs built-in liner help Jason’s game? Since plenty of other star athletes wear regular underwear, probably not. But who knows…maybe that anti-stink, anti-chafing liner is what made the difference after all.
