Last Tuesday, Male Standard were invited to sample the newest addition to the delicious ‘Royale’ family; Crown Royale Regal Apple, which was served up by none other than Master of Whisky, Stephen Wilson. The label is a combination of the well-known, premium taste of Crown Royal whisky infused with natural Gala apples, and we know it’s going to be a summer slam dunk, as evidenced by the instant approval of our tasting squad.
The tasting took place at the Crown Royal Suite at Staples Center, where Stephen Wilson mixed and served to our hearts content as the LA Clippers went head-to-head with the LA Lakers. The combination of the cheering crowds, the chilled cocktails, and the tasting crew made for an unforgettable night. It was exciting to toast the game with three delicious and signature recipes (see below) being served in the VIP booth, but you can also capture the vibe at home.

Crown Royal Regal Gala Apple
Once again, Crown proves itself to be a staple in our repertoire. To maintain the essence of the Regal Gala Apple, the apples start in a mixture of water and alcohol. The mixture is then distilled, and selections are collected based on the aroma. The aromatic fractions are blended to achieve the resulting apple flavor characteristics of the Regal Gala apple.
The 70 proof (35% ABV) whisky opens with a slightly tart, crisp, apple flavor balanced with signature Crown Royal with notes of caramel and a light spice. We found that the blend creates the ideal balance of flavor and whisky, before finishing with a crisp apple note that has a balanced sweetness, culminating in a full-bodied, smooth finish.
