Scars come in all shapes and sizes; they make their appearance and stay with you forever. While some scars fade into oblivion with time, others just remain as prominent as ever. Whether you have received those scars from an onslaught of teen acne, injuries or surgeries, there are ways by which you can reduce their appearances without having to go under the knife. Here are 5 natural ways you can remove scars.
Vitamin E Oil
Vitamin E oil is loaded with antioxidants that repair damaged cells and improve skin tone. Here is a simple remedy to rid of those unsightly scars. Rather than taking vitamin E capsules orally, burst the capsule with a pin and apply the oil content directly on the scar. Gently rub the oil with the soft pad of your fingers in round circular motion and allow it to soak through your skin. Make sure to test the oil in a small patch of your skin before applying in large areas, as vitamin E oil tends to trigger allergic reactions in some people.
Lemon Juice
Lemon is a natural ingredient that you can rely on blindly for almost all your beauty woes. It removes dead skin, helps in regeneration of new skin cells and improves elasticity. Here is what you need to do. Clean the scar and the area surrounding it with clean water. Soak a cotton ball in lemon juice, squeeze out the excess and rub it gently on the scar. Let the juice remain for 10 minutes before rinsing it off with clean water. Continue doing it for 2 weeks and you will notice a visible fading of the scar.
Aloe Vera
Since time immemorial, Aloe Vera has been renowned for its many medicinal properties. From healing burns and soothing irritated bowels to lighting up a dull face and getting rid of dandruff, there is so much that aloe can do. Take a couple of pieces of Aloe Vera and clean them thoroughly. Remove their skin and squeeze out the gel. Add a few cubes of ice to the gel and apply it on the scar. It will not only reduce the appearance of a scar, but also promote regeneration of new skin cells.
Indian Gooseberries
Indian gooseberries, also commonly termed as “amla”, can work wonders in treating most persistent of skin problems. Being loaded with vitamin C, the berries heal, repair and improve skin cells. You can easily get Indian gooseberries in powder form. Mix the powder with olive oil and make a fine paste. Apply the paste directly on the scar; let it dry completely before washing it off. The right time to apply the paste is when the wound is newly-healed, so the amla can get right into the action and prevent scars from occurring.
Lavender Oil
Lavender oil is yet another ingredient that works like a charm on your skin. Massage your skin daily with lavender oil. It will slowly wipe off every last trail of the scar. Don’t expect quick results though; it might take a long time before the change is visible. If no amount of natural remedy is rendering any quick results, then you can always turn to cosmetic treatments for effective results.
