World leading performance Compression and Triathlon apparel brand 2XU, is pleased to announce the addition of professional athlete and Olympic medalist, Bevan Docherty, to its growing portfolio of Brand Ambassadors. Olympic medalist Bevan DochertyAs one of only two athletes to win two Olympic triathlon medals, Bevan Docherty is no stranger to the podium. In addition to his hardware from Athens (2004) and Beijing (2008), Docherty is the 2013 New Zealand Ironman Winner, 2004 ITU Triathlon World Champion, 2008 ITU Triathlon Silver Medalist, 2006 Commonwealth Games Silver Medalist and 2012 Ironman 70.3 World Championship Bronze Medalist.
Competing for New Zealand, Docherty now lives stateside and has switched his focus from short to long course racing. In 2013, he smashed the Ironman Taupo record by shaving more than two minutes off 10-time winner, Cameron Brown’s former record, and completed the course in eight hours 15 minutes and 35 seconds. In 2012, Docherty made an even bigger splash in the sport by beating Lance Armstrong at the Panama 70.3.
