Warm Up This Fall with The Harvest Icebreaker from Iceberg Vodka

Harvesting iceberg water is no easy task: it requires brave folks to venture into the treacherous Canadian area known as “Iceberg Alley” to capture and preserve chunks of icebergs known as growlers. This spectacular process can only be completed during a short window each year when fishing boats are able to reach these large chunks.

Armed with state-of-the-art machinery, the process begins by collecting the blocks of ice that have naturally separated from their mother iceberg. Piece by piece the ice is collected in nets, then ground into pieces and immediately stored in bespoke tanks. To ensure unquestionable purity, this process must be done with meticulous care, as icebergs are entirely unpredictable and can flip at any moment.

In order to control this incredibly specialized harvesting process, the Canadian Iceberg Vodka Corporation is one of the few companies with an active commercial license from the Newfoundland and Labrador government to harvest icebergs in the North Atlantic Ocean.

Fill a shaker with ice. Add vodka and apple cider. Add a few shakes of ground cinnamon. Strain into a microwave-safe container. Microwave until hot, but not boiling (about 30 seconds). Rim a coffee mug or other hot beverage glass with sugar. Transfer warm beverage to rimmed glass. Garnish with a second dash of cinnamon and an apple slice that has been coated with caramel apple dipping sauce. If you prefer it less sweet, skip the caramel dipping sauce. Top with whipped cream if desired.
