Terrell Owens Interview – “I Wouldn’t Have Done Anything Differently In My Career.”

NFL legend Terrell Owens has teamed up with Butterfinger for the “Bolder Than Bold” campaign to celebrate the inherent boldness of its crispety, crunchety, unapologetically in-your-face candy bar.

In the video below, we talked to the outspoken NFL icon about his career, his notorious touchdown celebrations, and if he’d have done anything differently in hindsight. Here are a few highlights:

On being less bold during his career:

“No, absolutely not. With the way that my career started, how it started, where it started, considering that I never thought I would play beyond the collegiate level. For me I’m a testament, I’m an inspiration and I’m going to use this platform that I have, with my 15-year career, to motivate and inspire kids.”

On the Dallas star touchdown celebration:

“With me at the time, I wasn’t doing it to taunt anybody. But obviously when you’re on the losing end of that, a lot of people are going to misconstrue it, and why I did it. When I look back on it, yeah that was a pretty significant moment in my career. I wouldn’t say it defined me, but it was a pretty bold moment, bold two moments.”

On playing with a broken leg in Super Bowl XXXIX:

“Being as bold as I am, I am a very religious, spiritual type of person. I put my faith in God and that was first and foremost. For me to exercise my faith and really just demonstrate to people that you can put your mind to anything, that you can accomplish anything. There’s really nothing impossible when you have the good man up above in your corner. And I think the way I was raised, that was instilled in me with my grandmother, that with faith, all things are possible.

“They had doctors from all over the country saying that I wouldn’t even be walking, let alone running around a professional football game. To play in the biggest game, on the biggest stage of my career, I wasn’t going to allow a broken leg and a lot of ligaments stop me.”
