Introducing the Spring 2014 Collection from WANT Les Essentiels de la Vie

With the positivity that emerges from the first signs of spring, comes the promise of new beginnings. The frost melts to reveal a flourish of creativity and fresh ideas that energize us to embark on a new journey. This season, WANT Les Essentiels de la Vie invites us to imagine an artist who divides his time between a studio loft in Manhattan’s Chelsea neighborhood and a serene glass house perched atop the Baltic seaside. Inspired by both the bustling city and lush natural beauty, his ideas begin to take form as art imitates life.

Spring/ Summer 2014 brings an inflection of vivid tones inspired by nature’s color palette. A fresh, energetic array of blues conjures deep seas and a cliff-side view. Washes of crisp, painterly white calls to mind the potential of a blank canvas. Bright shades of yellow, red and green call to mind the artists’ rich watercolors, drawing pencils, and inspired drafting table.

Signature WANT Les Essentiels de la Vie silhouettes, like the Liberty travel wallet and classic O’Hare shopper tote,  return in innovative materials such as rubberized leather and textural woven fibers. A continued partnership with Liberty Art Fabrics, exhibited this season in blue and red “pencil print”, are applied to utilitarian favorites like the Kastrup backpack and the Barajas double-zip folio.

As the artist is rejuvenated by the natural surroundings of his coastal escape, Spring/ Summer 2014 from WANT Les Essentiels de la Vie grants a renewed sense of optimism to take with us into the new season.

About WANT Les Essentiels de la Vie

Conceived out of a “want” for premium, quality leather goods to house the “essential” professional and personal products for modern everyday life, designers Dexter and Byron Peart challenge the status quo by offering stylish, functional and affordable alternatives. Inspired by mid century architecture and design, WANT Les Essentiels de la Vie celebrates unity through contrast and is at once classic and modern, masculine and feminine, uptown and downtown.
