Iceberg Vodka Gives Label a ‘Cool’ New Look with Industry First

Iceberg Vodka has unveiled a fresh new look on its iconic iceberg-shaped bottle, highlighting its proud, all-Canadian roots with a maple leaf that turns red when the bottle is chilled to the perfect temperature through the use of thermo-chromatic ink – a first for any vodka label in the world. The cold activated, color-changing ink, on the company’s clear bottle contains a feature that turns red ‘out of the blue’ when cooled to 4°C (39°F). The cold temperature causes a pale silvery blue Canadian maple leaf that blends into the iceberg backdrop at room temperature to turn red like the maple leaf in Canada’s national flag.

“This is a global first in vodka to feature a cold-activated label – just place your bottle of Iceberg Vodka in the refrigerator or freezer and when the maple leaf turns red it is the perfect drinking temperature,” said David Meyers, president and CEO of Iceberg Vodka. “We wear our national pride on our sleeves at Iceberg Vodka and we wanted to have some fun with our label by showcasing a red maple leaf appearing out of an iceberg. This is a visible symbol to remind vodka lovers that Iceberg Vodka is made and bottled in Canada from 100-percent Canadian ingredients – from our Canadian quality alcohol to the pure water that we extract from 12,000-year-old icebergs harvested off the coast of Newfoundland, it all combines to make Iceberg Vodka the world’s purest vodka.”

In addition to the color-changing maple leaf, Iceberg Vodka’s new label also features an artistically manipulated graphic of the actual 12,000-year-old icebergs that are used to make the premium beverage. Iceberg Vodka harvests chunks of icebergs off the coast of Newfoundland which float south from the Arctic and naturally melt in the warmers waters of the Atlantic Ocean. This water is 7,000 times purer than tap water because it has been frozen since the last ice age. “While our label has been revamped and modernized to better reflect our premium product, the vodka inside the bottle has not been changed,” Meyers said. “It’s still the purest vodka on the planet and a true taste of all that makes Canada so well respected the world over.”

Along with the new label, visitors to Iceberg.ca will be treated to a new stylish website that reflects the updated Iceberg Vodka design.
